Finance Business Partner – Walmart Inc.

As we continue to grow across North America, we seek an insightful and action-oriented Finance Business Partner to support one of our most strategic retail relationships—Walmart Inc., inclusive of both Walmart and Sam’s Club. This role is instrumental in aligning financial strategy with commercial objectives, strengthening decision-making, and maximizing performance within this high-impact account.
Position Overview
The Finance Business Partner – Walmart Inc. will support the end-to-end financial management of SharkNinja’s relationship with Walmart and Sam’s Club, partnering closely with sales, marketing, operations, and supply chain teams. This role provides both strategic and tactical support, driving forward financial planning, commercial analysis, and performance management to enable best-in-class execution across this critical customer group.
This position requires a balance of strong analytical capabilities, cross-functional collaboration, and a deep understanding of retail financial dynamics. It is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional looking to take ownership of a highly visible portfolio and contribute directly to enterprise growth.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Forecasting
- Lead the financial planning process for Walmart Inc., including forecast development, budget cycles, and long-range planning aligned with internal and customer expectations.
- Track and analyze key performance indicators including net sales, gross margin, promotional efficiency, and mix.
- Partner with the account team to challenge assumptions, pressure-test inputs, and refine projections to ensure consistency and accuracy.
Strategic Business Partnership
- Serve as the dedicated financial advisor to the Walmart Inc. account team, contributing financial thought leadership to support both day-to-day operations and long-term initiatives.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support product launches, promotional campaigns, pricing decisions, and supply chain alignment.
- Provide clear financial insights and recommendations to drive profitable growth, resolve operational friction, and improve decision quality.
Quarterly Travel & On-Site Engagement
- Travel quarterly to SharkNinja’s Arkansas sales office to partner with the local sales teams supporting both Walmart and Sam’s Club.
- Support Retailer Top-to-Top meetings, strategic planning sessions, and financial reviews with Walmart Inc. leadership.
- Strengthen in-person relationships and drive alignment on financial performance, strategic initiatives, and joint business planning efforts.
Performance Reporting & Insights
- Own financial reporting routines for Walmart Inc., ensuring timely, accurate, and insightful updates to commercial and finance leadership.
- Prepare and communicate account-specific dashboards and analyses that highlight performance drivers, risks, and opportunities.
- Drive meaningful variance analysis during month-end close, ensuring data integrity and actionable commentary.
Process Optimization & Best Practices
- Identify and implement opportunities to enhance efficiency, automation, and consistency in financial planning and reporting processes.
- Contribute to the evolution of account-level reporting, financial governance, and system integration to support Walmart Inc.’s scale and complexity.
- Share learnings and support cross-account initiatives that promote knowledge sharing and process improvement across the FP&A organization.
Ad Hoc Support & Strategic Projects
- Support commercial initiatives and strategic projects including new product introductions, pricing strategy, seasonal investments, and logistics optimization.
- Assist with executive presentations and leadership reviews focused on Walmart Inc.’s business performance, forward outlook, and commercial priorities.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
- 5–7 years of experience in financial planning & analysis, commercial finance, or business partnering roles; experience with Walmart Inc. or large-format retail a strong plus.
- Proven track record of influencing commercial strategy through strong financial insights and collaborative business engagement.
- Advanced analytical and modeling skills; proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and planning/reporting systems (e.g., Adaptive).
- Strong business acumen with the ability to simplify complex data and communicate effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
- High level of ownership, detail orientation, and a bias toward action in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness and ability to travel quarterly to the Arkansas sales office for key account engagement.
