About the Role: 
 
The Commercial Marketing Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing Shark’s Global Product Marketing portfolio strategies. This individual will help spearhead initiatives, reporting, and optimizations within the Marketing team across new product development (NPD), portfolio expansion, assortment planning, and performance. As a key cross-functional team player, this role collaborates closely with Global Product, SS&A (Sales, Strategy & Analytics), Finance, Demand, Creative, and Marketing to drive growth and operational alignment.  

Key Responsibilities: 

Global Portfolio Strategy & Roadmap (NPD + CORE) 

  • Contribute to the development of global financial targets in partnership with SS&A, Product, Finance, and Strategy teams. 
  • Help to maintain the global product roadmap and align launch timing to business objectives. 
  • Partner cross-functionally to help drive portfolio segmentation strategies to optimize gross margin (GM) growth. 
  • Ensure alignment across SS&A and regional business units. 
  • Help manage global forecast updates and performance tracking. 

Global NPD Program Input (Weekly Executive Reviews) 

  • Manage assortment and configuration planning for new programs. 
  • Validate schedules and volume forecasts with scenario planning and pressure-testing across SS&A, Marketing, Demand, and Supply. 
  • Align margin targets collaboratively with SS&A, Product Development (PD) and Finance. 
  • Conduct competitive pricing analysis and support insights testing. 

Assortment Planning & Ownership 

  • Partner with Global SS&A teams to build channel strategies and assortments. 
  • Actively participate in OWW (Obsessed with Winning) planning meetings. 
  • Support retail sell-in through product comparisons and sales tools including presentations and sizzle slides in collaboration with Creative. 
  • Identify underperforming SKUs to develop innovative solutions. 

SKU Extension Strategy & Kick-Off 

  • Manage RKO process including SKU initiation and scheduling. 
  • Help coordinate ID/CMF (Industrial Design / Color, Material, Finish) spec development with PD, Design, and Marketing. 
  • Align strategy on volume, pricing, FOB, and MP schedules with cross-functional stakeholders. 

Global Commercialization and Asset Management 

  • Provide input on commercial needs for early-stage innovation. 
  • Assess program feasibility in international markets. 
  • Maintain a pulse on the global competitive landscape. 
  • Help own documentation and organization of global media assets to support any cross functional international needs. 
    • Help manage content validation meetings and key tools including Salsify and Veeva approvals with Legal across .com, media assets, and packaging. 

ATTRIBUTES & SKILLS:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of prior Marketing experience required, preferably with direct responsibility for brand strategy, messaging, positioning, and innovation planning and execution
  • Minimum 3 years of prior experience in Consumer Packaged Goods
  • Experience leveraging consumer insights to develop effective marketing programs and campaigns
  • Experience in creative strategy development, advertising and launching new products 
  • Degree in Marketing or related field, or equivalent; MBA preferred
