The Senior Manager, Accounting will play a critical leadership role within SharkNinja’s Finance organization, overseeing inventory accounting and related functions. This role is responsible for managing complex accounting processes, ensuring GAAP compliance, and leading a team to support business initiatives and process optimization in a dynamic, fast-paced, public company environment. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, capable of navigating cross-functional priorities and contributing to the continued growth of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the month-end and quarter-end close processes related to inventory, delivery, distribution, and COGS.
- Lead the preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, performance feedback, and development opportunities.
- Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Inventory Control, Logistics, and FP&A to ensure inventory is accounted for properly and efficiently.
- Drive continuous improvement of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls, with a focus on scalability and automation.
- Serve as a key point of contact for internal and external auditors, supporting quarterly and annual audits.
- Collaborate with leadership on key business initiatives, providing financial insight and accounting guidance on new product launches, go-to-market strategies, and international expansion.
- Lead the team in an analysis of excess and obsolete inventory, in addition to inventory costing initiatives.
- Lead and contribute to special projects, including system implementations, process reengineering, and technical accounting assessments.
- Stay current on GAAP developments, assess impacts, and lead implementation of new accounting standards as applicable.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA strongly preferred
- 6–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting and/or industry experience at a public company
- Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
- High emotional intelligence and strong communication skills; able to effectively interact with senior leadership and cross-functional partners
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, NetSuite)
